  6. Here  is a list of utilities that every serious Amiga owner should have in their
  7. collection.
  8.  
  9. Disksalv 2
  10. If  your hard drive, goes down then this is the best PD software to get it back.
  11. Retrieves  information,  restores  disk intergrity and so much more.  There is a
  12. Disksalv 3 which is commercial.
  13.  
  14. ReOrg 3.11
  15. For  those  with  hard  drives  this  is  another must.  After a month or two of
  16. intensive  use  you  will find your hard drive can be substantialy slower.  This
  17. program organizes the files on your hard drive so accessing them is fast again.
  18.  
  19. Edword 5.5 or Black's Editor
  20. The  two  best  PD  text  editors available.  Edword has an irritating shareware
  21. message on boot up though, otherwise it is completely usable.  Black's Editor is
  22. postcard ware.  I was so impressed with Edword I registered it.

  24. Virus Checker (latest version)
  25. Make sure your machine is never attacked by a Virus.
  26. (This virus checker is now outta date use XTruder or Virus Z II - Ed)
  27.  
  28. Yak 2.03 or MCX
  29. These  two  commodities  improve  usage of Workbench by so much.  MCX is the one
  30. everyone uses, but I use Yak.

  32. Dirwork 1.62
  33. In  my  opinion the best shareware directory utility.  An easier to use and less
  34. memory hungry Directory Opus.
  35.  
  36. Magic Menu 1.27
  37. Upgrades your menus to your exact specifications.  Absolutely vital!
  38.  
  39. Mode Pro 4.5
  40. The best monitor promotion utility available.
  41.  
  42. TBC 2.52
  43. Puts  a  little  clock in the top right of your title bar.  A simple idea, which
  44. wastes no workbench space.
  45.  
  46. Short Cut 1.2
  47. Allows you to make a small menu of your most used programs.
  48.  
  49. Embedder
  50. The best degrader for your A1200.
  51. (TUDE is better - Ed)
  52.  
  53. DefTool 2
  54. Allows  you  to quickly and easily change the default tool of one or more icons.
  55. Far better than calling up the info command for each icon via Workbench.
  56.  
  57. Powerpacker 2.3b and associated utilities.
  58. Reduce the amount of space files take by using this excellent program.  Requires
  59. to use of other utilities to really get the most out of it.
  60.  
  61. Snoopdos 3.0
  62. Invaluble if you want to track down why a program just will not work.
